Fees + Insurance
Investing in your own care is one of the most powerful things you can do.
I want you to feel confident and informed about what working together looks like — financially and otherwise.
Individual sessions: Starting at $120 per 50-minute session.
Many of my clients choose to pay privately for their sessions. This isn't just a payment option — it's often what makes the deepest work possible.
When you pay privately, there's no insurance company dictating your diagnosis, your treatment plan, or how many sessions you're "allowed" to have. Your care is shaped entirely around you — your pace, your goals, and what you actually need, not what a claims department approves.
Private pay also means a higher level of confidentiality. No mental health diagnosis is submitted to your insurance company or becomes part of your permanent medical record. Your insurance company will also not have access to your session notes— which can matter for future life insurance, security clearances, or simply your own peace of mind.
Insurance
I am in-network with Capital Health Plan (CHP) and United Healthcare. If you have one of these plans, we can discuss using your benefits during your consultation.
Out-of-Network Benefits (Superbills)
If you have a different insurance plan, you may still be able to use your out-of-network benefits. I provide a superbill — a detailed receipt of our sessions — that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Many PPO plans offer partial reimbursement for out-of-network mental health care.
I'd recommend calling the member services number on your insurance card and asking:
-
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
-
What percentage of each session is reimbursed?
-
Is there a deductible I need to meet first?
This gives you the flexibility of private pay while still potentially recouping some of the cost.
A Note on Insurance & Your Records
When insurance is used for mental health treatment, a diagnosis is required and becomes part of your permanent medical record. Your insurance company may also have access to your session notes. It can also limit the number of sessions covered or the type of treatment approved. Private pay clients avoid this entirely — giving you full ownership over your care and your story.
Still Have Questions?
Every situation is different, and I'm happy to talk through what makes the most sense for you. The best place to start is a free 15-minute consultation.
